  • GHANA RESIDENTIAL PERMIT

A residence permit authorizes a foreigner to live in Ghana for a specified period. A residential permit maybe issued to a foreign national who intends to remain in Ghana for a substantial period. It may be issued generally between the period of one to four years in the first instance, and not more than eight years in total. A foreign national who wishes to run a business, study, or work in Ghana must apply and be issued with a residential permit to carry all activities determined by the permit. Retirees or persons with regular income or landed properties who can demonstrate that they will not be charged on public funds might be eligible for residential permit among other factors.

  • GHANA RIGHT OF ABODE

Right of Abode is given an indefinite residential permit. The holder is generally not subjected to immigration control and may engage in businesses or may seek employment without the need to obtain a work permit. Right of Abode may be granted in two categories.

The first category may be granted t a Ghanaian citizen who has lost their citizenship through acquiring citizenship of another country. In some they renounce their Ghanaian citizenship in other to acquire the citizenship of other countries. And in other to regain the Ghanaian citizenship back, the will have to apply and be granted a Right of Abode.

The second category may be granted to a person of a Ghanaian accent who was born outside of the country. such a person must have resided in Ghana among other requirements in or to apply and be granted the Right of Abode.
